All About Pilot-RC. It all started in March of 2008 and is owned by good friends and flying buddies Sword, Tony and Elvis.
It all started on the 1st of Janaury 2008 when Tony pointed out to his friends that despite the large number of factories in China, none where actually based in China, they where all producing for well known US based companies. His idea was to start a Chinese brand of giant scale planes that was fully based in China.
Having known each other since 2005 when Tony started flying, and with Elvis having worked in the industry since 1996 and with great great experience in designing, producing, inspecting quality control, and ensuring great flight performance, Pilot-Rc was born.
A 10,760 sq ft factory was set up initially with just four workers besides Elvis & Tony. But soon the company grew and so did the factory which is now over 28,000 sq ft.
Both Tony and Elvis have worked for other companies, they know what it feels like to be unappreciated and how it is to work in less than appealing conditions and vowed to be different. Pilot-RC would make sure the workers are happy, offering nice working conditions, higher pay and a work environment allows and encourages workers have pride in their work and this shows in the final product Pilot-RC is offering.
Some examples of this can be the workers cool water fountains, company wide air-conditioning, and a break room with a TV and other amenities. Also, the worker’s are offered room and board at no charge to them. You can not find these kind of conditions in any other model manufacturing plant in China.
Thanks to this, Pilot-RC started to draw highly skilled workers in the Chinese RC industry, which is vital when we think about how building model airplanes is a skilled craft and that most of the work is done by hand and not by a machine. The best plane can only be built with pride by a happy worker. So we will always do their best to offer good conditions to our team of currently over 80 workers.
The current production line of Pilot RC airplane’s was designed by Elvis, with the assistance of top competition pilots and even the general public. When the public give feedback and suggestions, Pilot-RC has always listened. The first plane produced by Pilot RC was the 87” YAK. After a few prototypes, it was finished on April 15th 2008. The Yak flew very well, and so Pilot-RC begin the first production run. As Pilot-RC grew we aimed to design more aerobatic planes and Warbirds, dedicating great attention to Research & Development which we firmly believe to be a most important step of production.
With Elvis, Sword and Tony being true RC fans, we know what a good model airplane is and how it should fly. When Pilot-RC builds an ARF, we want it to be as easy as possible to assemble, to make the Pilot-RC experience a comfortable one for even the first time giant scale pilot. To assist with the build, all Pilot RC planes will have pre-installed hinges, pre-installed pull-pull wires with ball links attached, a pre-mounted canopy, a pre-mounted fuel tank and fuel dot. Pilot-RC wants the customer to have the best experience with the least amount of work and for this also includes a comprehensive hardware package. .
At Pilot-RC we pay strict attention to our customer service, we know this is above every other thing that we do and as such will do everything we can to ensure customer satisfaction.
A unique service that Pilot-RC offers is the “custom scheme” option. For just a small premium, Pilot-RC will make the airplane of your choice in your custom scheme. (Schemes must not be copies of those available from other ARF manufacturers) once the scheme mock up is approved by the customer, the custom scheme option only adds around ten business days to the shipment of your airplane!
All Pilot RC airplane designs are flight tested by the most experienced and aggressive pilots. This is demonstrated in the Demo videos available on the Pilot RC website. Pilot RC only produces a design after it has been proven that the design is TOUGH and a great flying airplane.
With such a large array of models to choose from, be it acrobatic, sport or jet, and even with options between wood or composite construction, we are sure that if you take a look through our website you will find what you are looking for.
